Beauty and

the East

On June 1st, 2022, after a month-and-a-half of sobriety, and with a fresh real estate brokerage license in my hands, I left the Griffintown loft I was living in to my daughter, and I moved to the Eastern Townships, where I only knew my partner. At first, all I did was meditate, work out, connect with my sober community, and go to my job as a brew pub waitress. This is some of what I saw during my pupa phase, as I took care of myself, peeled back the layers, and did the work.

I’m releasing these now, because Ive discarded my cocoon. I’ve sold a handful of houses, I’ve begun freelance writing again (look for me in The Sherbrooke Record’s winter guide), and I’m releasing a podcast and video series on the history of Québec, early in the new year. More importantly, I’m building community and finally starting to feel at home, in my new region.

Imposter Syndrome

I’ve been documenting what enkindles me for years but was never able to actually say that I was a photographer. I have the privilege of being surrounded by many artists that I greatly admire, and I was always inclined to hide in their shadow, rather than cast my own light alongside theirs. Until now.

These were all taken between 2016 and 2021, before I knew I what I was.
